- Who it helps
- Developers maintaining tool configurations and instruction files for coding agents.
- Availability
- The source and README are public under Apache 2.0. The command-line tool and optional local-server probes were not installed or run; check the current setup requirements before using it.
A useful first inspection
Use a context report to identify unusually large tool descriptions or repeated rules. Size alone does not show that an instruction is unnecessary: keep its intended behavior visible while deciding what to shorten.
Scanning has a narrow meaning
The README includes pattern-based checks and benchmark claims. Pattern matches can help locate suspicious strings, while missed patterns and contextual risks remain possible. A small benchmark does not establish savings for every repository.
What you can do
- Read the CLI options and inspect a disposable configuration before enabling any command that starts a local MCP server. Open reference ↗
Where the evidence stops
No command was executed. Security guarantees, token savings and compatibility with individual agents remain unverified.

Dated source checks and published explanations. An observation date can differ from the original release date.
CtxWise is a public toolkit for inspecting agent context, profiling tool-schema overhead and synchronizing instruction rules. It makes otherwise hidden input costs easier to examine.
