- Who it helps
- Infrastructure teams running distributed model training or other multi-GPU work.
- Availability
- The original announcement is September 25. This is a public preview using account-based CLI or API access. GPU allocations are separate paid resources; preview interfaces can change.
What the network supplies
InfiniBand supports fast communication between machines, including direct transfers between memory regions. A partition controls which participating instances can communicate over that fabric. Physical placement and allocated capacity still matter.
Why the date matters
An October 20 interview renewed discussion of the service. The underlying preview announcement is older. Its usefulness depends on workload placement, network isolation and the full cost of allocated compute.

Where the evidence stops
The announcement and interview were inspected. No resources were allocated, and performance, isolation and billing were not tested.
