- Who it helps
- Developers evaluating self-hosted generation of application interfaces.
- Availability
- Public Apache 2.0 weights and documentation are available. The inspected card lists no hosted inference provider. GPU compute and integration costs remain the operator’s responsibility; an exact release date was not confirmed.
The model and renderer have different jobs
Thesys describes OUI-1 as a fine-tune of DiffusionGemma. It writes OpenUI Lang, while a renderer turns that code into components. The framework, model and hosted Gateway are separate products. Generated screens still need parser and component-property validation.
Active parameters do not equal memory use
The card lists 26 billion total parameters and four billion active per token. FP8 weights occupy about 25.8 GiB before runtime and cache memory; its Transformers example reports roughly 52 GiB peak memory. The benchmark uses an A100 80GB and is author-reported. A small active-parameter count is insufficient to choose hardware.
What you can do
- Read the model-card serving settings and validate generated screens with the intended component library. Open reference ↗
Where the evidence stops
Model card and product page checked October 22. No inference, screen rendering or benchmark was executed. Documented tool-call and sampler limits need testing in the intended application.

OUI-1 generates interface code using the components you describe in its prompt. OpenUI can then render the result as a form, chart or other interactive screen.
