- Who it helps
- Developers building agents whose tasks outlast a single request or server process.
- Availability
- The October 19 explanation and beta documentation are public. The docs list Pi and OpenCode integrations, plus experimental Claude Code and Codex adapters. Vercel and self-hosted storage routes have separate infrastructure and model costs.
Remember completed work
The design records intended actions and their results. A replacement worker can replay completed steps and continue the session. Durable execution means the work record survives a process failure; the model and tool calls still need their own failure handling.
An interrupted action can be ambiguous
A tool may have changed an external system before its result was stored. The explanation distinguishes safely repeatable calls from actions that may already have run. The latter require checking the external state. Persistence alone cannot promise that every side effect happens exactly once.
Choose the supported integration
A harness coordinates the model’s work and tool calls. The adapter table identifies which integrations run inside a function and which need a sandbox. Experimental adapters require particular care when planning deployment and failure tests.

Where the evidence stops
Documentation and the maker’s explanation were read. No service was deployed, crashed or resumed; runtime guarantees were not independently tested.
Sources read. October 19 explanation and current beta documentation checked October 21. No crash-recovery test was run.

Vercel describes a way to keep an agent session running across worker crashes and browser disconnects by persisting its work and resuming it elsewhere.
