- Who it helps
- Office teams and administrators evaluating an existing document workflow.
- Availability
- The October 10 release is documented. Cloud use draws on its AI wallet; server installations connect a local or cloud provider. Open-source editions require separate AI installation.
Choose the right editor
The announcement places AI in four editors, but configurable actions and assistants are described for the document editor. Do not assume every editor has identical controls.
Plan the connection
An installed office suite alone does not establish that its AI features are configured. Edition, provider connection and usage charges affect access. This server/browser Docs release is distinct from Desktop Editors.
What you can do
- Check the edition-specific setup and try a copy of a non-sensitive document before enabling a shared workflow. Open reference ↗
