Why intermediate choices matter
An agent harness is the surrounding instructions, tools and execution logic. The method keeps promising intermediate configurations even when they are not the final cost-quality choice, allowing later changes to build on them.

What the tests establish
The authors compare candidates over repeated runs and evaluate on ClawMark and GAIA2 with separated domains. They report better quality and lower per-task cost than the compared starting systems. Those task costs depend on the tested configuration and are not a current price quote for an arbitrary application.
