- Who it helps
- Developers evaluating small local coding assistants.
- Availability
- Public Apache-2.0 Rust project in alpha, using local models through Ollama. Web, terminal and editor integrations are documented.
Check the evidence behind a reply
The program keeps a record of tool calls, paths, failures and denied actions that the model cannot edit. Rules compare completion claims with actual file state and can return one corrective message when a promised file is absent or misplaced.
A narrow check with a useful purpose
The author illustrates the mechanism with small scripted trials on two four-billion-parameter models. This can expose specific false completion claims; it does not verify that code behaves correctly. Web search uses external services unless the offline configuration is selected.

Where the evidence stops
No installation or task was run here. The author’s small trials were not replicated. Local inference still requires a suitable computer, and network tools change where requests go.

Rufous records tool activity and checks file state so a local assistant can be challenged when it claims unfinished work is complete.
